About
Hi! I’m Haley, a rising junior majoring in Biological Engineering and minoring in Computer Science at MIT on the premed track with hopes of pursuing a MD/PhD joint program following undergrad. Outside of classes, I’m part of MIT MedLinks, MIT Global Health Alliance, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and MIT Running Club. I have been tutoring elementary and high school students for 5 years in many different subjects including specific math and science classes. As a biological engineering major I’ve been working as a laboratory undergraduate student through my school for the past semester. Among other research, the lab I’m part of has focused on specific areas of interest in biology, including antibody engineering using yeast display and using small molecule microarrays to detect small molecule ligand binders to a protein of interest for drug discovery. I’d love to talk about MIT and why I love the collaborative environment so much, applying from a public high school to colleges, and biological engineering as a major and computer science as a minor. I also hope to assist you with brainstorming and revising both personal statement essays and school-specific essays. I have plenty of both generic and school-specific questions to prep you sufficiently for college interviews, and I can help you through any part of the college admissions process. I can also tutor and help you with tips and tricks to strategize through SAT and ACT questions for math and science sections, as well as AP math and science classes! I’m excited to get to know you and help you get admitted to the college of your dreams!
